Internal Shutters
Dating back to the American Civil War, Plantation shutters continue to be of the most modern window furnishings available and have many advantages.
The design of shutters with adjustable slats provide excellent ventilation and lighting possibilities. Easily cleaned, they provide improved security when the slats are fully closed and are a great insulator against the elements.
The HBA shutters are manufactured from materials such as PVC, and Basswood and Cedar timbers and also aluminium materials.
There are various slat blade size options available in each material type and in most ranges the option of standard colours or custom colours are a possibility in some cases for your special project.
The plantation shutters supplied by HBA are manufactured from PVC and this synthetic material is designed and engineered to cope with moisture, heat and UV rays. They also do not peel and are strong reducing dents and/or chipping.
This material makes these shutters ideal to be used in kitchens, bathrooms or laundries.
The blades are available in 63 mm, 76 mm, 89 mm or 114 mm and are available in options of sliding, bi-fold, hinged or fixed panels.
White is the most common colour installed but we also offer other standard colours and if you desire we can match a colour from the Dulux Master colour chart.
We also have the option to supply both Australian Made and imported PVC shutters.
Basswood has a very fine finish in texture and is a soft timber, which makes them perfect for manufacturing shutters.
Basswood is a common timber used to manufacture wooden musical instruments and speciality products where the final finish is critical through hand carving and millwork.
Basswood material also provides the option of greater colour choice for your shutter. The Basswood shutters are available in 47 mm, 64 mm, 89 mm or 115 mm elliptical blade slats and there is a range of standard colours and custom colours are a possibility for your special project.
Timber shutters are also available in Pawolina Timber.
Cedar shutters are manufactured from western red cedar from forests in Canada and is a timber that holds some great characteristics. It has been used for many years as a material for shutters.
Cedar has a natural resistance to moisture and offers nice insulation from both heat and cold. Cedar is a lightweight, material yet strong and therefore allow for shutters to be manufactured in wider spans, Cedar also allows for a timber look in your home.
